Description
A 7-ounce bag of Woodland Scenics medium grade ballast in Iron Ore - realistic granular scenery material calibrated for HO and larger scales where a slightly coarser stone texture reads correctly. Medium grain ballast closely matches the appearance of prototype crushed rock ballast beds used under railroad ties.
Apply with diluted white glue using the wet-water method: spray diluted water first, then apply thinned glue to wick beneath the ballast without disturbing it. Medium iron ore ballast adds the distinctive reddish mineral tone of iron-bearing crusher run to HO and O scale trackwork and ore-loading scenes.
Suitable for track ballasting, wagon loads, coal or gravel detail, road shoulders, and industrial site groundwork. The non-magnetic material blends easily with other ballast colors for a realistic mixed-stone effect.
