Description
A 7-ounce bag of Woodland Scenics fine grade ballast in Dark Brown - scale-accurate granular material for simulating the crushed stone or cinder track bed found on real railroads. The fine grain size is calibrated to look realistic at smaller scales including N, Z, and HO, where coarser material would appear oversized.
The material is non-magnetic and can be applied using white glue diluted with water and a drop of dish soap to reduce surface tension. A scale reference chart is printed on the package to help confirm visual correctness for your layout's scale. Dark brown ballast simulates the deeply weathered, moisture-darkened stone found in shaded cuts, beneath dense tree canopy, and on older track.
Use this ballast to line your trackwork, fill a prototype-style ballast section, load a gondola or hopper car, fill a gravel bin, or add material detail to a road or industrial site. Woodland Scenics ballast is compatible with all track brands and can be blended with other colors for a custom-mixed appearance.
